Rochdale have been in the fourth tier of English football since 1975 despite challenging at the top end of the division for the last five years. The club share their ground with local rugby league team the Rochdale Hornets and are said to attract the country’s friendliest fans. Three of Spotland’s stands are named after club sponsors Thwaites Brewery, Westrose and T.D.S.
